flatlands: a dreamy driving mix

I made a mix, dudes and dudettes. I like it and I hope that you will like it too. It is a themed mix contingent (although not exclusively so) upon a time and a space. Drowsy summer nights driving around sleepy streets is the best time and space for this mix. Listen to "side A" while driving. "Side B" is for once you've arrived home and settled into bed listening to the rest of the mix upon your chosen listening device as you drift off to sleep.

I tried to pick songs with the beat of the road galluping beneath your tires, songs that had road-themed lyrics, songs that lulled you through a sleepless night into one of dreams. These are wistful songs that contain the kind of thoughts and emotions that only exist within those solo late-night drives. If you like the vibe of this mix, please follow it on Spotify and check out Chromatics' "Night Drive".

What's This Bitch Talking About? Becoming, Part 1

"Bottom line is, even if you see 'em coming, you're not ready
for the big moments. No one asks for their life to change, not really. But it
does. So what are we, helpless? Puppets? No. The big moments are
gonna come. You can't help that. It's what you do afterwards that
counts. That's when you find out who you are." -Whistler

What's This Bitch Talking About? Go Fish

Buffy is not the Slayer of discreet surveillance.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer endeavors to start conversations about privilege and slut-shaming. "Go Fish" is about as discreet as Buffy trying to protect the next possible victim of a gill-monster, but this is still a "fun" (kind of?) episode.

Due to the nature of my podcast (I watch, recap and review every episode 20 years after their original airdates), we are about to embark upon a punishing FOUR MONTH Buffy drought. Please vote in my Twitter poll to weigh in on what you'd like this bitch to talk about during those four long months.
